Plot Summary
C.I.A. Agent Billy Brown (Vincent Gallo) brings his wife home to meet his absurdly dysfunctional family. Only Billy's not really in the C.I.A., and his "wife," Layla (Christina Ricci), is actually a young tap dancer he just kidnapped to impress his ridiculous and unloving parents (Anjelica Huston, Ben Gazzara). In reality, Billy's whole life is an empty lie. He's fresh out of prison and now on a deadly mission to hunt down and kill the Buffalo Bills kicker whose botched field goal, he believes, ruined his life. However, Billy's new hostage may ruin everything. Their crazy attachment blossoms into a desperate and oddly beautiful romance that may or may not be a sweet enough substitute for revenge.

SO SO GOOD
I love this movie, so glad they've got it for sale here. I could watch it again & again. Vincent Gallo is the epitome of a mixed-up lifelong reject, his friend Goon is priceless, and Christina Ricci is at her best despite the fact that everyone hated that she's not anorexic in this movie. She's absolutely gorgeous. The cinematography is breathtaking, the music is unforgettable. Watch it w/someone else so you can have an inside joke for years by randomly saying, "I can't drive a shiftercar, I'm used to LUXURY," and "I love you, we love each other, don't touch me," as well as the gem "we're spanning time." Angelica Houston & Ben Gazzara are perfect as oblivious, negligent, fanatic but insane parents that scream such things as "why are you pointing that knife at me, did you come here to kill me?" and "honey, go get the Billy picture. you know, that one." There's also innocent, supersweet, codependent romance. Who doesn't love that?

This movie is beautiful! It had me laughing from start to finish. If you have a quarky sense of humour don't hesitate to watch this. It's a Classic.
