Plot Summary

A cop tracking a ruthless criminal finds himself in the midst of an unfinished subway tunnel, when his flashlight reveals a startling discovery: a three-meter-long, scorpion-like bug who devours him after one slice of its massive tail. FBI agent Matt Pollack (Antonio Sabato, Jr.) is brought in to investigate, and when forensics reveal the source of the problem, he turns to his friend, insect specialist Emily Foster (Angie Everhart), for help... with chilling results. Now Matt and a team of crack SWAT commandos must go underground to battle these evil predators, but when the humans find themselves trapped inside a massive tunnel, they're forced to race against time and exterminate this menace before chaos and destruction consume the world above!

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Fun in the same self-satisfied and awe-struck way that most Imax movies are. – Elvis Mitchell, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: Astute use of 3-D effects, accomplished insect wrangling and studious avoidance of gross-out elements make this acceptable for target family auds. – Ronnie Scheib, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: That hulking gorilla in King Kong and those rampaging dinosaurs in Jurassic Park have nothing on the amazing monsters in Bugs! in 3-D. – Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The climbing, scurrying, and munching eventually grows tiresome, but the film is not without its highlights. – Ben Kenigsberg, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010
