Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Though my foreign Oscar pick would still have been Eat Drink Man Woman, Sun is such a personal close second that I can go with the academy novelty of novelties. – USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Burnt by the Sun was not the best of the nominated foreign films (Before the Rain deserved to win), and is not even very original. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jul 7, 2010

Customer Reviews

Roger Ebert is a moron.

I'm so sick of career movie critics like Roger Ebert and their pathetic commentary and criticism. "Touched by the Sun" is a fantastic movie, one that accurately portrays the social and political situation of Stalinist Russia. The movie offers a very personal and heartfelt degree of insight to the broader picture of a terrible chapter of Russian and human history. It's historically realistic, something that perhaps moronic buffoons like Ebert who live in their own little fantasy world simply can't understand.
