Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Though my foreign Oscar pick would still have been Eat Drink Man Woman, Sun is such a personal close second that I can go with the academy novelty of novelties.
Rotten: Burnt by the Sun was not the best of the nominated foreign films (Before the Rain deserved to win), and is not even very original.
Customer Reviews
Roger Ebert is a moron.
I'm so sick of career movie critics like Roger Ebert and their pathetic commentary and criticism. "Touched by the Sun" is a fantastic movie, one that accurately portrays the social and political situation of Stalinist Russia. The movie offers a very personal and heartfelt degree of insight to the broader picture of a terrible chapter of Russian and human history. It's historically realistic, something that perhaps moronic buffoons like Ebert who live in their own little fantasy world simply can't understand.
Absolutely Amazing
Amazing on so many levels. If you enjoy film...
Brilliant
This is a must-see film for all who are serious about film, history, or humanity.
