Plot Summary
Prolific American songwriter, producer and family man Butch Walker may be unknown to the millions of fans of such artists as Fall Out Boy, Taylor Swift, Train and Pink, for example, with whom he has produced hit records for, but to industry insiders he is considered as "the musicians musician." And to the adoring fans of the prodigious records created under his own name, Butch Walker is an underground God. A hidden gem and uncompromising servant to his craft, Butch's rock and roll fairy tale comes into focus as directors Peter Harding and Shane Valdes capture key notes in the lyrical life of one of today's most acclaimed and respected singer-songwriters. With a non-invasive lens, the directors capture candid footage of the man behind the music, and the glimpses are nothing short of inspiring. From a fly on the wall of his studio sessions, to the streets and clubs of fan-crazed crowds, to the "trampoline" wisdom of his pre-school son, and when you meet Atlanta's favorite rock-son's ailing father "Big Butch," it is clear where this man found his moral rock.

Life long fan
I've been a fan of Butch Walker's since 1989 from his Southgang days. Through the years styles & genres change but one thing remains true : Butch Walker can be relied on to bring a smile to your face through his music. Comedic timing along with heartfelt lyrics guarantee a good time at his live shows. If I could say one thing to Mr. Walker, it would simply be to say thank you for all of the great music that he's been a part of through his own and other artists he produced/wrote for. Thank you Butch!
Great doc for music lovers and philosophers
Got to see this last year at the Hollywood premier, loved it!
A Very Telling Piece
A great glimpse into the life of the Black Widows and the life of the man behind all the music. The most interesting pieces by far were the interview with Darren Dodd (always very interesting to see why band members come and go) and the piece with his family. Amazing to see a man with a booked solid schedule for his day job and night job try to balance being a husband, son and father; that was very, very interesting to see. You get to see just how complex this modern musical master is in both his professional and personal lives…a must see.
