Plot Summary
An ailing security systems company is going down the drain when a young electronics genius invents C.H.O.M.P.S. - Canine Home Protection System. His invention is a robot dog, powerful and vicious when activated, which he hopes will stop a crime wave and help him win the security system owner's daughter.

Actually, it is copyright 1979. If you watch many of the older 70's to 80s and even some early 90s "family films", they were before the MPAA ratings and often contain a lot of bad words. I remember watching chomps many, many years ago on HBO when I was very young. The little black grumpy dog says the "s" word among other things quite a bit.
