Plot Summary
Tony-nominated actor Todd Graff makes his directorial debut with the musical comedy Camp, featuring an ensemble cast of newcomers. Guitarist Vlad (Daniel Letterle) attends Camp Ovation, the summer theater camp for budding actors, dancers, and musicians. Finding himself to be one of the only hetero boys around, he soon befriends nice girl Ellen (Joanna Chilcoat). Meanwhile, openly gay Michael (Robin de Jesus) develops a crush on him. This sparks dramatic confrontations among fellow campers Jenna (Tiffany Taylor), Jill (Alana Allen), and Fritzi (Anna Kendrick). The whole camp is run by Bert Hanley (Don Dixon), a washed-up Broadway songwriter who decides to enlist the help of his young campers to put together a new production. Features musical numbers by Stephen Sondheim and the Rolling Stones, as well as original tunes from composer Michael Gore and lyricist Lynn Ahrens. Camp was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Occasional clumsiness is easily coated over by the movie's overarching goodwill.
Fresh: Spiked with some genuine show-stopping musical numbers, and the sheer pluck of its young cast is nothing if not admirable.
Fresh: The kids have energy to burn, and you can't help but marvel at the polish they bring to a variety of numbers from a variety of musicals.
Rotten: A soap-opera patchwork of worn backstage cliches.

Yeeeee!
I saw this movie in theaters and am surprised to see this movie on itunes. I really enjoyed it. If you're looking for your tyical teenie movie (meangirls, Confessions of teenage drama queen what a girl wants etc.) then this isn't for you. This movie is a bit deeper and talks about issues many teens have with their parents such as: being gay, straight or bisexual as well as being over weight. This is definately a confidence bilding movie! I recommend it!
Camp, YES
this movie is totally underated, and not enough people get to see it, granted you have to have an acquired taste, but its definetly worth the buy. I think I'd be safe in saying that it is my favorite movie. Please give this movie a try!
AMAZING!!
So pretty much this is my favorite movie on the face of the earth!! I watched it at a cast party for our school musical the 1st time, and the next day I went out and bought the cd and the dvd and i have been obsessed ever since. Although it probably won't appeal to people who are not involved in musical theatre, it is a funny look on theatre camp for those who are. There are no big huge actors in this film and it is full of new faces and voices that blow you away.
