Rotten: The movie isn't merely wrong for kids -- it's just all wrong. – Frank Lovece, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 21, 2011

Rotten: Salinger has some good moments dealing with the cultural shock of his Rip Van Winkle reawakening, but film never takes flight under Albert Pyun's leaden direction. – Lawrence Cohn, Variety, Jul 21, 2011

Avoid This Movie at All Costs

After Seeing The 2011 Captain America, I now look back, and see how terrible this movie really is

Captain America

This movie is absolutely trash. It is unbelievable iTunes has it for sale. It should be taken off the site along with a refund to all who purchased it. Save your money.

Great

I vaguely remember watching this as a kid but I was a little hesitant to buy after the 'cheesy' comments.

It's a lot better than I expected. Good story line, costume looks ok and is plausible the way it is explained. The Cheesy is all the stars and stripes but it was set in 1943 to begin with and the film doesn't take itself too seriously with that, even Steve Rogers has a pop at the lack of camouflage his suit gives him.

I hope Chris Evans' Captain America is a little harder though as this one spent large parts of the film running away from blokes on motorbikes.
