Plot Summary
Chris Pine (Star Trek) stars in this intense, gripping thriller about a deadly threat beyond anyone’s worst nightmare. Determined to escape a lethal virus, four teens set out in search of an uncontaminated refuge, only to discover that they are far more dangerous to each other than the virus they are trying to survive. Carriers is a pulse-pounding journey into a world where laws and rules no longer apply, and no one can be trusted -- not even your friends.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Put into extremely limited release by Paramount Vantage after spending years in studio lockdown, Carriers has moments of genuinely communicable horror and thus deserves better than a de facto theatrical quarantine.
Fresh: A moody, engaging end-of-the-world horror-drama, if a bit too apocalypse-lite.
Rotten: This thoughtful, low-key exploration of our darker survival instincts is too conventional and unfocused to fully engage our emotions.
Fresh: Diverting and well made with solid performances, but Carriers adds nothing new.

I base my movie buying decisions on your reviews
I bought this movie soley on its excellent reviews. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. The way that ITunes critics toss around the term "best movie ever" is comical at the least. This move wasnt bad, but t defnetely wasnt good. Wouldnt be worth the buy at 3.99
Great thinking thriller
I was one of 3 people in the theater watching this in September, so when the lights came back on- I was all alone. If you've seen this movie, you'll appreciate the humor in that. This is not like resident evil or such fare; it's about survival but not just physically. I really apreciated its intelligence; I was thinking of it for days after. So thought provoking and personal- what would you do? I know you'd say you'd do something, but what would you actually do? Its pacing is great and the actors are each wonderful. Even if it's not your cup of tea- the actors do very well and are fun to watch! It also doesn't abuse the use of violence in cinema.
Good, but don't be fooled.
The movie was actually good, and like what other reviews say, the acting was very good throughout. I'd say that this is one of the few movies that delivers an actual realistic super-killing-virus rather then zombie movies. Since if you were to have any sort of mutation, and "awake from the dead" the mutation would have to be born with it biologically speaking. Still far fetched at that.
But this movie was about a virus that slowly killed off the body, or something of that sort. It was never really said what it actually did and how it happened. But it was from a much more realistic standpoint, and it never stepped to far out of reality. That is if something like this would happen of course. The only thing that bugged me was how the benz just magically decided to stop working, and their much more reliable cars then that. Even if it was an E-class wagon. ( I may be wrong about the exact type, It may have been a c-class wagon, but I'm pretty sure it was the e-class wagon. )
I wouldn't compare this to any other movie though, it's not a action movie you could watch over and over. So I'd rent it, if that option is available. But it will defiantly get you thinking, and isn't complete garbage like many other movies. I don't even know how I stumbled upon this movie on here. I remember maybe seeing one preview, and didn't ever see it in the theatres. It shouldn't be rated as a amazing blockbuster hit, but it deserved much more respect/attention then it got, thats for sure. But it's a good one or two time watch, and kept me interested the whole time. Movies like 28 days later/28 weeks later those two to be exact. I fell asleep during, found them boring, and just plain weird. So I personally wouldn't compare them to this, even though some parts were similar.
