Great as usual
This brings Stanley to life for us. Whom would otherwise be ignored. Great to see his charm. My son loved seeing how radiator springs started.
Fun, though not the best "Tall Tale"
This new "Cars Toon" was fast-paced and enjoyable, based on the old time-travel tropes of "what if you went back and changed history?" or "what if you were supposed to change history but didn't?"; it had the "Mater's Tall Tales" mix of Lightning McQueen disbelieving Mater's story, then getting dragged into it (in this case literally, on Mater's tow hook), and finally being hit with evidence back in the "real world" that the story really did happen. There weren't as many surprises as in some of the other Tall Tales -- after all, we know how the story turns out -- though I was looking for some kind of reaction of the cars in the 1910's and 1920's to the obviously "futuristic" Mater (1955) and McQueen (ca. 2005). Maybe they were just too polite. Anyway, a fun addition to the Cars tales! [Edited to remove references to original price of $15, or $20 for an "HD" version, after this obvious pricing error was fixed and I replaced my DVRed copy from the Disney Channel with an iTunes purchase.]
Best Mater Tale Yet!
Love this--lots of charm and fun Radiator Springs backstory. Disneyland Resort should start renting out the courthouse in Cars Land for weddings! with Lizzie and Stanley cake toppers!
