Plot Summary
Adapted from the stage, Peter Askin’s CERTAINTY explores the feelings of a young engaged couple named Deb (Adelaide Clemens) and Dom (Tom Lipinski) as they undertake a Catholic couple’s retreat. Designed to force partners to ask the tough questions about married life, the retreat soon requires Deb and Dom to confront their feelings about faith, family and the future. Filled with terrific performances and held together by Askin’s careful touch as a director, CERTAINTY is an ensemble film that takes the notion of family and places it under the microscope, allowing the drama and comedy to build as the story carefully unspools on the screen. Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: [A] grating round robin of connubial dysfunction and romantic disappointment.
Rotten: A couple attends a Pre-Cana retreat to test the Certainty of their commitment in Peter Askin's none-too-subtle Catholic cautionary tale.
Rotten: This romantic drama about a couple in crisis mixes relationship and religious issues to uneven effect.
Rotten: There are few romantic dramas more frustrating than the kind that studiously avoid cliched characterizations while gracelessly begging viewers to alternately coo and tsk-tsk the behavior of their adult protagonists.

Watch this movie!
A caring and thoughtful look at young people dealing with life, love and their faith. Not preachy like some other 'religious' films--I felt this one got my experience, what I was going through.
Loved it! Highly recommend!
Wow
Loved this film! Great performances by a really cool cast - didn't know all of the actors but they are awesome. This really nailed the whole pre cana experience, made me laugh out loud over my cornflakes.
Smart and laugh out loud funny
This film is beautifully written and acted. It deals with relationships, issues of faith, and the Catholic church in a respectful way but leaves you laughing out loud and thinking long after you have seen it.
