Plot Summary

Chasing Amy is the third installment in the "New Jersey Trilogy" from award winning writer/director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma). Cult comic book artist Holden (Ben Affleck) falls in love with fellow artist Alyssa (Joey Lauren Adams), only to be thwarted by her sexuality, the disdain of his best friend Banky (Jason Lee), and his own misgivings about himself. Filled with Smith's unique ear for dialogue and insight into relationships, Chasing Amy offers a thoughtful, funny look at how perceptions alter lives, and how obsession and self doubt skew reality.

you go over what he draws with a pen... that's tracing

"you need to go down to the corner store, and buy yourself a clue" if you haven't seen this movie.

though I feel that Chasing Amy is the weakest of the New Jersey Trilogy, it nonetheless has the most powerful and deepest story. If you liked Clerks, the first 35 minutes will satisfy you, after that is slows down considerably. That is where this movie falls. Where the message of Clerks was the humor itself, and Mallrats dispensed with a solid message, Chasing Amy blends the two. As a result, it is neither a brilliant satire on life, nor a mindless laugh-fest.

That aside it is a wonderful and unique movie to watch. Quotes abound as do pop culture references.

fan o

good movie, but just rent it somewhere else [for free!]. ITUNES NEEDS LOWER PRICES!!! i see the request for lower prices in every comment, but i guess apple isnt listening. bad economy, hence less money SHOULD equal lower prices, guess not.
