Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: These two lovebirds are playfully mismatched, and that's just why they fall for each other.
Fresh: It's the kind of refined, delicate acting Pfeiffer does so well, and it's a further reminder of how much we've missed her since she's been away.
Rotten: A movie like Cheri needs the time and space of The Age of Innocence. Instead, it's rushed along in an hour and 40 minutes.
Rotten: Cheri is a serviceable period piece, but not much more.

It's Okay
This was not one of Michelle Pfeiffer's best movies, nor is it her worst, but it's still an okay movie! It's fun to watch Michelle playing this character when you see her facial expressions. Rupert Friend and Kathy Bates were not that good. The whole movie itself was a little weak. This movie was like a 50/50. I am a Michelle Pfeiffer fan and I don't think this was a horrible movie, but not an A+ good movie. It's more like a low C movie!
Cheri
Michelle pfeiffer was very good, Kathy Bates gave a solid performance. Rupert friend hopelessly miscast, he is completely void of masculinity, much like his "Wickham" from "Pride and Prejudice". I understand that sensibilities and aesthetics were completely different in that era, but if John Malkovich could give a masculine and authentic performance in "Dangerous Liasions", why not here????
