Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: By the time the sky really does start 'falling' -- courtesy of an alien invasion -- Chicken Little's frantic efforts to stay farm fresh have started to wear on the nerves. – Ben Kenigsberg, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: ... as cluttered as the movie gets before the ending, it's funny throughout, with some 1970s and '80s music thrown in to keep adults happy. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Chicken Little is much too glib to make us feel what its characters are experiencing; the filmmakers would much rather explode their animated sets and vaporize their talking creatures. – Christopher Kelly, San Jose Mercury News, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: When Disney can't hit a tried-and-true fairy-tale adaptation out of the park, maybe it's time to give up the ghost and get Pixar back on the phone. – Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel, Jun 24, 2010

Not sure how this child's short story became enough fodder for a feature film. The story line, characters and jokes are formulaic. The main character fails as an underdog. He is fundamentally not very likable - more cute and annoying. Instead of feeling sorry for him, I just didn't feel empathy for him. This is yet another movie where the dad is portrayed as an out of touch idiot, and worse yet, he's not funny. The pig character is the highlight, but that's not saying much for this very skippable film. This is not one of Disney's best. Skip it.

A tender, heartfelt modest little movie with a lot of pluck! I loved this film. The characters are sweet and charming, especially Fish Out of Water!
