Plot Summary

With their Christmas markets filled with local crafts and food, and holiday lights and activities, a visit to the cities and towns along the Danube at Christmas is a magical experience. In Vienna, Christmas markets spring to life among the city’s grand buildings; in Budapest locals celebrate folk traditions; and music fills the air at the Christmas Markets in Mozart’s hometown of Salzburg. A visit to the town of Oberndorf details the history of the most famous of all Christmas songs “Silent Night. ” Other highlights include the baroque master Melk Abbey, the Old Town of Passau, and the charming Christmas Market of Bratislava. The film includes music from the region’s great composers like Mozart, Beethoven and others, which makes this a special show for classical music lovers.
