Plot Summary
In 2035, smoking is illegal except in the dystopian, nicotine-stained “Smoking Section” controlled by the Vice Lord. Cigarette Girl, all underwear, curves and va-va-voom, sells cigarettes on the black market, while struggling to kick her own habit. Three days later, haunted by the ghosts of her addiction, Cigarette Girl discovers... she'd kill for a smoke.

Cult Classic
A great, Southern Cult Classic punk rock film. Lots of fun, highly recommend.
Praise to director Mike McCarthy!
Mike McCarthy is at the forefront of a filmmaker new wave that would be as comfortable in the company of a Jean-Luc Godard, Luc Besson or a bizarro Wes Anderson, with his dystopian Cigarette Girl being a prime example of his ability to be simultaneously inconoclastic while making every frame of his work totally absorbing aka entertaining. And in that sense, he's emerging as an artist with both a very unique filter on existence, and very commercial sensibilities. This is also evidenced in his casting of a mesmerizing Cori Dials as the Cigarette Girl lead. McCarthy was able to accomplish a great deal here on very limited funds, so who knows what cinematic shocks and revelations will be unleashed with significant funding on his future works.
Smoky, funky future Noir... in Memphis!
This is no-budget exploitation filmmaking at its most moody, poetic and artful. Mike McCarthy is a true original and a cult movie legend, but "Cigarette Girl" ups his game considerably. This could be the one that makes the rest of the American cult scene come discover what we've been diggin' in Memphis for years. I can't wait to see what he does next.
