Plot Summary

Witness how ZED™ comes to life in its making-of documentary “ZED in Tokyo”. Learn, through the words of show director François Girard (The Red Violin) how the show became more than its individual pieces. Through the nurturance and cultivation of a sense of community between ZED artists, musicians and technicians, Girard encouraged the show to develop its own arrangement and follow the rhythm of its own heartbeat. In this stylistic documentary, director and interviewer Vali Fugulin uses a series of vignettes and Japanese style Anime to reveal ZED. Artists tell the stories of their new Cirque du Soleil® lives and reveal a real picture of the difficulties they face in such a massive production. As the ZED show brings together opposite themes to create unity rather than division, “ZED in Tokyo” brings together the many parts that went into creating the final result in Tokyo, a harmonic, poetic and magical composition.
