Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: A film worked out with admirable artistry.
Fresh: The British comic is still the consummate pantomimist, unquestionably one of the greatest the stage or screen has ever known.
Fresh: With its themes of selflessness and grace, as well as its graceful intertwining of comedy and pathos, this is a fine time for a revisit.
Fresh: Is this film still funny after 76 years? I think and hope it is.

City Lights
If, for some reason, you need proof that Charlie Chaplin is a genius, consider this Exhibit A. One of the best movies ever, featuring what may be the most poignant ending in film history. Brilliant.
The greatest comedy ever written
If just for two scenes alone, the hilarious boxing scene and that final freeze out which Gene Siskal called the greatest ending in movie history. Chaplin's masterpiece. And of course his great score. Now ranked 11 on the AFI top 100 films of all time. Previous Sight and Sound winner as greatest of all time.
City Lights & Chaplin are the BEST!!
Best Picture possibly ever made!! It has it all!! I just love this film!!
