Plot Summary
An embittered woman seeks escape in marriage, only to find herself restless and drawn toward her husband's best friend. Starring Golden Globe-winner Marilyn Monroe ("Some Like It Hot") and Oscar-honoree and multiple Golden Globe and Emmy-winner Barbara Stanwyck ("Double Indemnity," "The Lady Eve"). Oscar-nominee Robert Ryan ("The Wild Bunch") co-stars in this well-done and enjoyable drama.

Good movie but..
Uumm why does iTunes have Marilyn Monroe top billed, she is just a small role, just like alot of other movies that put her face all over the cover so people will say "Oh! Marilyn Monroe shes hot let's see it " and in the description it says "stars golden globe winner Marilyn Monroe " and then it says "also starring barbara stanwyck "
Uumm no, this is Barbara stanwycks film not marilyns , she plays a small part .... But good film anyways
Sad, sad story
This a sad tale but great acting. Worth watching for sure. Cop out ending better ending in Sofie's Choice which would have been fitting!
Good but slow-moving
Love Barbara Stanwyck in this movie. The acting is good. Story is good, but slow. Marilyn has a minor part in this film but is in several scenes. Very much a chick-flick and is worth watching or owning.
