Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A sad, disturbing and in some ways tragic tale that in its lurid combination of sex and politics, banal hypocrisy and bare-knuckles power, seems very much an American story of our times. – Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times, Nov 11, 2010

Fresh: You want tears? You want convulsive sobs, weepy remorse, pleadings for forgiveness? Well, look elsewhere, because Eliot Spitzer isn't going to give them to you. – Christy Lemire, Associated Press, Nov 12, 2010

Fresh: It uncovers truths while framing events as a gripping whodunit. Gibney puts mystery back into a story we thought we knew. – Joe Neumaier, New York Daily News, Nov 5, 2010

Fresh: Say what you will about Eliot Spitzer, he's a marvelous subject for a documentary, and Alex Gibney has made a film worthy of him... – Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal, Nov 11, 2010

this is a great documentary with a great interview of the man himself. listen, the reality is he is a man that made some mistakes. people forget, that he was a successful and talented district attorney that challenged some very important problems in our high society...and won.

great laughs!

fascinating in-depth look at what led up to the financial meltdown...oh yea.. we can't forget about spitz and his hookers. this just goes to show you that you can't trust a suit these days. i now take my financial advice from someone in bermuda shorts and a tee that looks like tattoo from fantasy island and my portfolio's gain is up about 5.6%

Unexpectedly eye-opening

The documentary is perfectly balanced. Not a huge documentary fan myself, Client 9 is informative, well researched and provides both sides to every argument; a rare phenomena these days. Not only highly entertaining but educational in a way as well. I, myself, am very impressed with the director and producers of this film and it comes highly recommended. Really fantastic
