Plot Summary
Oscar-winner Clark Gable ("Gone With the Wind") stars as a senior officer who faces the horror of sending his men on suicide missions over Germany during the last days of World War II. Compelling war-time drama co-stars Oscar-nominee Walter Pigeon ("Mrs. Miniver") and Emmy-nominee Van Johnson ("Battleground").

Excellent Air Force Movie
Een though the movie has very few war scenes its an excellent movie with some very good acting.
Stands up well
This movie stands up very well. It is more than 60 years old and is still relevant in its portrayal of people charged with making the really tough decisions. A great movie!
Superb on All Çounts
Acting was superb on the part of all involved, with a great story and fine direction. We witness just how dangerous our campaign our program of high-altitude daylight precision bombardment really was and the human cost of carrying out that program. Equally superb is this film's portrayal of the necessity of carrying out such a program, despite the tragically high cost of men and machines.
