Plot Summary
Contracted tells the cautionary tale of Samantha (Townsend), a twenty‐something party girl with little discipline and even less direction. After experiencing a lapse in her relationship with her lover (Stegeman), she’s forced to move back in with her overbearing mother (Williams). Samantha’s only means to escape seems to come in the form of a flower competition that she’s determined to win. Things take a turn for the worse when Samantha spends the night with mysterious man (Barrett), leaving her hung‐over and guilt‐ridden. However, something else is wrong with Samantha. Something is infecting her. Unsure of the disease or the man who gave it to her, she must attempt to hide it from her loved ones. Now, Samantha realizes she is not just the victim of an STD, but rather the host of something much more catastrophic. Prepare to witness a zombie film like you’ve never even imagined.

Fresh: The ending to this fable misses the opportunity for broader metaphorical resonance, but getting there has its own unnerving rewards.
Rotten: A body-horror opus that will satisfy genre fans who like to be grossed out, but doesn't have much to offer on any other count.
Fresh: "Contracted" can best be described as "Contagion" meets "Blue Is the Warmest Color," without all those explicit sex scenes.
Rotten: There's no payoff to the paranoia.

Misogyny in disguise
So hard to know where to start.
The movie tries to give the viewer a ridiculous morality tale which crosses from engaging to offensive with terrible ease. A Lesbian refuses the advances of a sweet and loving heterosexual man in favor of an uncaring and cold feminazi lesbian lover, and in revenge fate has her raped by someone who not only infects her with a terrible body rotting disease, but leads her to kill and punish every other lesbian in the film and everyone who just wanted a ‘normal’ (read heterosexual and Christian) life for her.
Again, despite the iTunes description, Townsend does not have a one night stand with the man who infects her. She is raped. There is no justice seen for the crime, however. We merely see how her rape destroys her life and then the movie is over.
The body horror moments are suitably nightmarish, and played believably and quite sympathetically by the lead, Townsend. Separated into three days, Day I of the infection is nerve wracking and with a great sense of foreboding. Once Day I is over, however, the rest of the film miserably falls apart.
Townsend honestly does what she can with the material and remains sympathetic until the script becomes too ludicrous too enjoy. By the time the film is over, terrible filmmaking and writing have lost Townsend all the sympathy that she struggled so hard to create in the beginning of the film. What starts off as body horror turns into a misogynistic fantasy in which a diseased man kills off Lesbians with heterosexual sex, and where a diseased Lesbian destroys every good person (a loving heterosexual man and a Christian mom) in her life.
Cinematography wise there is also very little to redeem the film as by the end of the film even the filmmaker doesn’t seem to care as the cataracted eye in the poster appears and reappears from one scene to another, and lazy writing makes every medical professional Townsend meets into a disinterested buffoon transforming the entire film into an exercise in annoyance.
If I could give the film zero stars I would. It is an offensive exercise in idiocy and nothing more.

One of the worst, most gross horror films I have ever seen. Did the producers run out of money because there is no real ending to the film. The acting was terrible. The one star is for anyone who sat through this mess.
Spare yourself
D-list movie, at best.
