Apparently no one at iTunes actually saw this movie...

Because either it is a DIFFERENT "Creature" starring Klaus Kinski and Wendy Schaal or someone screwed up.

I've got the movie and this is what it is about: A spaceship lands on a distant planet and while out exploring the crew find several cylenders which contain zooalogigical specimens from various planets. Yeah, as expected 'something' gets loose and reeks havok on the crew. Kinski more than makes up for the cheesy monster and even with said monster, there are several really creepy parts. There is no island, no marine biologist, no abandoned secret military base. Oh, and no shark-like monster swimming around in the mist. Think "ALIEN" with crappy special effects, good acting, decent plot and best of all - Klaus Kinski.

Low-budget ALIEN rip-off but then again you knew it

An extremely '80s low-budget SF horror which would not have existed if not for the megahit of ALIEN, but having said that, the movie does try damnest to remain true to the spirit of the '50s monster flick which was an inspriation for the latter. Klaus Kinski amusingly plays the half-crazy survivor of the German spaceship. Too bad in action scenes he is obviously played by a stuntman. William Malone directs with surprising flair for drama but this particular video version seems somewhat edited, seems to be missing some gore, especially in Perkins's death scene. Yeah well at 99 cents rental I didn't feel like I wasted my dollar but I wouldn't recommend this to those without a certain level of affection for '80s (or '50s) SF-horror.
