Plot Summary
Two macabre masters - writer Stephen King and director George A. Romero - conjure up five shocking yarns, each a virtuoso exercise in the ghouls-and-gags style of classic '50s horror comics. A murdered man emerges from the grave for Father's Day cake. A meteor's ooze makes everything ... grow. A professor selects his wife as a snack for a crated creature. A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror. A malevolent millionaire with an insect phobia becomes the prey of a cockroach army. Add the spirited performances of a fine cast (Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, E.G. Marshall and King himself) and the ghoulish makeup wizardry of Tom Savini. Let the Creepshow begin.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Horror film purists may object to the levity even though failed, as a lot of it is.
Fresh: George Romero, collaborating with writer Stephen King, again proves his adeptness at combining thrills with tongue-in-cheek humor.
Fresh: Romero and King have approached this movie with humor and affection, as well as with an appreciation of the macabre.
Fresh: Genuinely creepy, satirical and occasionally daft horror tales with a distinctly moral bent.
Customer Reviews
Great movie - why cant we buy?!
The movie itself gets 5 stars but iTunes' offering gets one... why can't we have the option to buy it? It's a great movie that is spooky without building crushing tension or terror... five little stories that might be told around a campfire. For anyone who likes something a little unsettling but fun. The "gore" is very tame by today's standards.
So much fun!
I remember as a kid, sitting home on a Saturday night and stumbling across this movie. From the second I saw the dad yelling at the kid and the kid getting pissed and going to his room to find a floating skeleton outside his window I was hooked. Each story is good in its own way but I would have to say that "the crate" has to be my favorite.
Wonderful Movie
Ah, this movie really freaked me out as a kid. If you like revenge from beyond the grave and 50s horror comics and have somehow not already seen Creepshow on cable, do yourself a favor and rent the movie. Creepshow has a great cast, a great script, and it really feels like a labor of (ghoulish) love. There's nothing else quite like Creepshow.
