Plot Summary
The clock strikes midnight, money changes hands, the crowd is on their feet, and the court is alive with fast-paced razzle-dazzle basketball. These players don't play for a school or a pro team. They play for the street and it's underground...way underground. Tech (Anthony Mackie, Freedomland, She Hate Me) and Cruise (Wesley Jonathan, Roll Bounce) are two best friends with mad streetballing skills. They light up the court with electrifying moves and spectacular dunks. But off the court their goals couldn't be more different. Tech dreams of going to the NBA and winning a streetball game against his conceited archrival Jewelz (Phillip "Hot Sauce" Champion). Cruise, with the natural talent to be an NBA star, wants to use his basketball scholarship to UCLA pre-med to become a doctor rather than give in to the lure of former sports agent Vaughn (Wayne Brady - TV's "The Wayne Brady Show"), who wants him to go pro. "Crossover" is a story of friendship and getting crossed, where true warriors play be their own rules and have the wicked ball-handling skills, hops and street smarts to show off their true talent.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Bling is bad and friends are good in this story of temptation, rivalry and buck-wild cheerleaders set in the world of Detroit street basketball.
Rotten: Much as they would like it to, basketball can't save the youthful inner-city players here. Nor does the ultra-fast-paced street version of the sport save this movie from predictability and tedium.
Rotten: The underground version of basketball known as streetball comes above ground in Crossover, but the fascinating freeform game gets screened out by a ludicrous soap opera with poor dramatic moves.
Rotten: While director-screenwriter Preston A. Whitmore II's film is to be admired for its proponing the values of a higher education over the dream of a career in the NBA, its dialogue, characterizations and situations rarely transcend the level of cliche.
