Plot Summary
CRUDE is the latest masterpiece from filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Brother's Keeper, Paradise Lost, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster). This riveting film tells the epic story of one of the largest and most controversial legal cases on the planet: the infamous $27 billion "Amazon Chernobyl" case pitting 30,000 rainforest dwellers in Ecuador against U.S. oil Giant Chevron. Berlinger skillfully takes us into this high stakes legal drama, which involves global politics, the environmental movement, celebrity activism, human rights advocacy, multinational corporate power, and the fate of disappearing indigenous cultures.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: It's a David-and-Goliath tale, full of anger and disturbing accusation, but it's also inspiring.
Fresh: An engrossing case for justice.
Fresh: What Crude does best is take us behind the scenes and show in often candid detail how campaigns are waged, tactics decided on and strategies prioritized.
Fresh: At first Crude looks like one more environmental agit-doc intended to outrage and inspire. Director Joe Berlinger is no doctrinaire hack, though.
Customer Reviews
Another eye opener from Berlinger & Co.
Documentaries are a dime a dozen these days. Anybody can pick up a camera and shoot something. But this something reveals both pain and potential in such a revealing and honest way, it's difficult to turn your head from the injustices. It's hard enough to fight the massive powers of corporate injustice, even when you have all the tools of media in the world at your keyboard. So when master doc makers put the full force of their energies into a subject they're passionate about, you get a film like Crude, and it has the potential to change the course of bad deeds dealt to average families who just want to live their lives.
Great documentary
This is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen, it will make you think twice before filling up your gas tank or working for the oil companies.
