Plot Summary

Robert Taylor portrays American officer Captain Brad Parker on the front lines of the massive Allied landing, whose special commando unit must destroy a key German gun position. But for Captain Parker, the mission is also fraught with personal complications because he and his commander Colonel John Wynter (Richard Todd) are in love with the same woman Valerie Russell (Dana Wynter). Featuring Edmond O'Brien as Colonel Axel Timmer and building to a stirring climax on the beaches of Normandy, D-Day The Sixth Of June is a moving story of courage and sacrifice both on and off the battlefield.

Misleading Title

This movie was alright for a love story, but from the cover and the description I thought it would be a war movie. There is only about 5 minutes of combat at the end and the rest is just a love triangle with too much talking. Should have been titled "Two Old Dudes and a Chick"

Great Romance

While I understand Mr. Loomis's rancor I must say that this is a fantastic film. The title is misleading for war movie buffs BUT the actual movie is outstanding. The story is honest and quite racy for the era. Lol "2 old dudes and a chic" that made me laugh:)
