Plot Summary
The film tells the story of Nick DiSanto, who is tormented by his ability to touch someone and see exactly how they will die. On his 23rd birthday Nick is summoned by his mother (Lesley-Anne Down) to the asylum where she has been institutionalized since his childhood. Hoping that her request to see him is a sign of improvement, Nick is stunned by her revelation that the father he thought was dead is really alive. He is alive and may know the origin of Nick's terrible gift. Nick sets out to find his father with his best friend Ryan (Anthony Rey Perez) and girlfriend Eve (Alex McKenna). The trio are soon frightened and alarmed as every road they take on the journey leads them back to the same abandoned mansion - a house that only existed in Nick's childhood imagination or so he thought. A house in a town that no map connects. Finally succumbing to the will of the house, Nick becomes embroiled in a battle with a dark figure (Tobin Bell).

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Mere minutes into "Dark House," it becomes depressingly clear that the deficit of imagination displayed by the title will not be made up for by the content.
Rotten: There's plenty of blood in the supernatural horror flick "Dark House," but what really defines director Victor Salva's latest effort is flop sweat.
Rotten: Salva certainly gets points for creative repurposing. Much of what transpires in "Dark House" has been seen before, just not all in the same movie.
Rotten: Sometimes there's a thin line between terrifying and goofy.

The Honest Reviewer: This movie was absolutely horrible
Seriously, aside from some competent acting from the majority of the cast, there was nothing redeemable about this travesty of a film. The special effects were pathetic, the overall plot is recycled and poorly executed, and overall, there is just very little here to warrant a viewing by even the most lenient of fans of the horror genre. Once again, I was duped by the jerks who continuously rate films in the upper-stars based on their friends/colleges/personal involvement of the film, instead of giving an honest review of a worthless piece of film. Seriously, do not waste your hard earned money on this movie. You will regret it like I did. It is beyond horrible, it is pathetic.
LOVED IT!
I really loved this movie I think it's one of the best. my favorite so far.
