Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Guilty pleasure: One of Warner's best acted melodramas and Bette Davis's all-time favorite, in which she lives hard but dies in dignity as an heiress gone blind. Also Davis revenge as Tallulah Bankhead failed to bring the role to life in the 1934 play.
Fresh: Even by the standards of a typical Bette Davis melodrama Dark Victory is an embarrassment of riches.

Very Moving and So True!
If you just watch it to get the message of the movie, it is so worth it. Flawless acting, and a wonderful plot. It is a very moving picture that can't be overlooked!
One of Bette's Best
This film is a staple if you love old movies. Bette Davis plays a slightly spoiled rich girl with a brain tumor. The film follows her through many stages of the disease--from denial, to anger, to acceptance and grace. Along the road, she finds true love and her soul. This is definitely a classic for all times.
