Plot Summary
Julie Andrews made a bid to change her squeaky clean image with this elaborately mounted WWI musical. Lili Smith (Andrews) is a popular British music hall singer who is regarded as a femme fatale and has been known to throw a bit of striptease into her act. However, Lili has a secret: she's actually a German spy, and the uncle she dotes upon is really Von Ruger (Jeremy Kemp), a fellow espionage agent and her contact for the Huns. In hopes of gaining valuable information, Lili begins using her feminine wiles on Maj. William Larrabee (Rock Hudson), a top American pilot. However, Lili soon discovers that she's falling in love with Larrabee and can't find the courage to betray him; Larrabee discovers Lili's secret, but he refuses to turn her in.

I liked it
This movie is pretty good, but has some slow parts. I would suggest renting it first before buying it because it is not for everyone. It does star Julie Andrews and Rock Hudson though which are two fabulous actors, so that in itself makes it great!
Darling Lil
Darling Lil is fun and enjoyable to watch
A must see!
Great Movie! It is quite a love story between a German spy and an English commander. Who would ever think that pretending to fall in love with an enemy could actualy happen for real. Julie brings a certain charm to the character that no one else ever could and it is impossible to not fall in love yourself with Rock Hudson. This Romantic Comedy Musical is great for those days that need a pick me up. As stated by 'musicalsfan' you may want to rent it first, however, once you see it you will want to add it to your library.
