Plot Summary

When high school misfits Rickie and JT decide to ditch school and find themselves lost in the crumbling facility of a nearby abandoned hospital, they come face-to-face with a gruesome discovery: a body of a woman stripped naked, chained to a table and covered in plastic and soon realize she is anything but dead. Quickly the boys find themselves embarking on a twisted yet poignant journey testing the limits of their friendship, and forces both to decide just how far they're willing to stretch their understanding of right and wrong.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Much of the allegorical force Harel and Sarmiento's film has built up is undone by its utterly conventional, lameass-switcheroo ending, which may be an indication that more than enough virtual ink has been spilled on this subject. – Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: [It] has more fantastically blunt, clunky, and downright laughable teen-sex dialogue per minute than anything this side of Larry Clark. – Vadim Rizov, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Written by a weirdo named Trent Haaga for no other purpose than to outrage, Deadgirl is part S&M porno, part supernatural chiller, and worthy only if you're interested in how far movies can go before the police arrive. – Rex Reed, New York Observer, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The appeal of Deadgirl depends exclusively on the intriguing image at its center. – Ryan Stewart, Slant Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Customer Reviews

definitely not a first date movie

k, this movie is great not really for the acting, production, or budget, but for the fact that it's a gnarly story and will (hopefully) completely disturb you. kind of like watching a train wreck; horrific, and you might watch some of it through the slit of your fingers, but you can't quite turn away. WARNING: if your mom walks in the room, strongly advise you to throw your shoe through the screen ASAP.

Why do people watch these things.

This was absolutely disgusting. I can't even put into words how horrible that was. How can people film these things?

Dumb
