Plot Summary
For Austin's hottest DJ, Jungle Julia (Sydney Tamiia Poitier), dusk offers an opportunity to unwind with two of her closest friends, Shanna and Arlene (Jordan Ladd and Vanessa Ferlito). This three fox posse sets out into the night, turning heads from Guero's to the Texas Chili Parlor. Not all of the attention is innocent: Covertly tracking their moves is Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell), a scarred, weathered rebel who leers from behind the wheel of his muscle car. As the girls settle into their beers, Mike's weapon, a white-hot juggernaut, revs just feet away…

Fresh: Although overall impact of Tarantino's homage to chick-driven actioners and auto demolition derbies remains about the same, pic's second half, in particular, benefits from the further detailing it's now received.
Fresh: Much of this material is terrific in purely cinematic terms; one of Tarantino's saving graces as a filmmaker is his often surprising capacity for contemplative moments and patches of plotlessness.
Fresh: Death Proof is superbly made. There's a terrible tension watching these beautiful and spirited young women getting too close to the flame, followed by enormous relief when the mood changes in the second story.

Epic and totally whacky movie
When i finished watching this movie, i realized how talented Quentin Tarantino really is. Although there is a lot of setup with the characters, it truely gives them a deeper sense of who they really are rather than a bunch of college girls hitting the road. The music that QT puts in his films give a great view into the style he's trying to portray, and is very catchy. The climax leaves you at the edge of your seat, and the ending is perfect.
Horror???
This is a great film but please put it where it needs to be! This is an action flick, it has about as much horror as ET!!! A bloody car crash is not horror people!!!! It's the 5pm News!!! GREAT MOVIE, WATCH IT!!
Kickass flick
A lot of people criticize this film because they say it has more talking than action. And, for the first hour or so, they're pretty much right. But once the final car chase takes place, it lasts 20+ minutes and is one of the most exciting and entertaining car chases in recent memory. Even when the action isn't taking place, however, I found the dialogue between the characters (who are all very sexy ladies, by the way) to be fun to watch and interesting. It's a film I can watch over and over again (and I have, trust me), and I'm so glad to finally have it on iTunes. Awesome flick.
