Plot Summary

Shortly after a nuclear bomber nearly crashes at an American Air Force base in England, journalist Nick Mullen (Gabriel Byrne) publishes a seemingly unrelated expose on a respected Parliament member caught in a dalliance with a woman who has also had relations with an East German ambassador. His loyalty to England questioned, the Parliament member resigns. Mullen continues to investigate with his partner, Vernon Bayliss (Denholm Elliott), but when Bayliss suddenly dies from a questionable heart attack, Mullen’s suspicions lead him to a dark secret at the Air Force base. Also starring Greta Scacchi.
