Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Too grim for kids and too dumb for grown-ups, this cut-rate CG space opera raises more questions than it answers. – Adam Markovitz, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The story is tedious, noisy and banal. It is also rather dark and convoluted for children, though it does have the familiar bombast of a video game. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: A boring, ungainly piece of animation. – Robert Koehler, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The story is a mishmash of adventure-fantasy tropes. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Jul 7, 2010

WORST MOVIE OF THE DECADE

I have to be honest with you, I can sit through most movies. I can laugh at Thomas and the Magic Railroad. I can groan at Garfield. But when I turn off a movie halfway through in disgust, that is when it hits rock bottom. This is what happened with Delgo for me. DO NOT WATCH!

My kid loved the movie. He wanted to watch it again the next day. He is pretty young and was entertained without being scared at all.

A very lacking tale on what should have been an exciting epic.

I went into watching this movie knowing it was produced on a low budget, so I tried my best to keep an open mind. By the time the credits rolled however, I was completely let down by the poor storyline and total waste of a great cast of voice talent

First off, the character design is unimaginative and ugly to look at, better dialogue can be found in a saturday morning cartoon, and the story is uninspiring and gave me the feeling that I've seen all of this before. And let's not forget this is supposed to be a family film...where are the jokes? I may have chuckled once or twice at some of the more mainstream of rehashed sketches in this movie simply because I was bored of sitting there watching one great opportunity of comedy after another, continue to pass by.

This could have been a great film. The producers had a great cast and a decent enough budget to pull it off. But with poor direction and horrible character design (I mean it...this is one ugly cast of characters to look at) and with a script rehashed from what seems like a hundred fantasy films before it, Delgo just doesn't make the grade.
