Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: It cries from and for the hearts of victims and leaves its viewers moved, shattered, outraged. And impotent in the face of the ugliness visited on the souls of good and innocent people. – Richard Schickel, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Deliver Us From Evil has a few things wrong with it, including an egregious musical score, but without resorting to sucker punches, it takes your breath away while making your skin crawl. – Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: The church declined to comment to Berg. Her film speaks volumes about its silence -- and about a wrong that can never be righted. – Ruthe Stein, San Francisco Chronicle, Nov 4, 2006

Fresh: O'Grady appears in the film, his face showing no sign of shame even as he acknowledges and describes the awful things he did. – Jack Mathews, New York Daily News, Jun 24, 2010

Every Catholic Should Watch This

I am a Catholic and was skeptical of watching such a documentary. I love my faith and I am open enough to hear if there are problems with it. I even watched religulous by Bill Mahr(Great concept of logic but just an awful movie all around ). What these priests have done and the people responsible for covering it have done are nothing more then signs to me that satan (or whatever you want to call it) can sneak his way in to even the most devout followers of Christ. Remember satan even tried to tempt Christ.

Father Tom Doyle in this movie represents to me the true Catholic faith. He, Priests and clergy like him are what makes me a believer in Catholicism.

This movie is excellent; just excellent at exposing this open wound in the Catholic Church. God bless us all no matter what your religion or denomination might be.

Powerful

A really hard hitting documentary that shakes you to the core... Fills you with hate and sadness.

Most Important Film

The audacity of the monster is limitless and terrifying. The mishandling by the leadership is reprehensible and disastrous. The courage of the victims is awe-inspiring and gut-wrenching. Please let us know how we can help.
