Riveting!
I couldn't take my eyes off this riveting morality tale about a small town in northern Europe, Denmark or Norway, seemingly. The level of acting is tremendous, especially by the actor who plays Lars, the black sheep brother.
The whole town goes after a good-hearted immigrant for a crime he did not commit. The portrayals of the working class, hard drinking men are accurate. This provides a slice of life for a culture we rarely see portrayed. The movie has violence, but it's not gratuitous, but central to the story. A twist to the ending is thought provoking. With subtitles.
