Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: There are surely eight million stories on the naked plains, but "African Cats" tells one: about lions and cheetahs and - oh, Bambi! - the power of mother love. – Rachel Saltz, New York Times, Apr 21, 2011

Fresh: Not coincidentally, African Cats opens on Earth Day. Meeting these magnificent fellow creatures might be a fine way to celebrate. – Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly, Apr 22, 2011

Fresh: The photography is so spectacular that the accompanying Disney-ization of wildlife is forgiven. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Apr 21, 2011

Rotten: Far too often, African Cats feels episodic in its structure. Rather than featuring a driving, compelling narrative, it's: cheetah vs. gazelle. And then: hyena vs. cheetah. And then: lion vs. crocodile. Who will win??? – Christy Lemire, Associated Press, Apr 20, 2011

A MOVIE FOR (BIG) CAT LOVERS

If you love lions, cheetahs, and the sweet sound of Samuel L. Jackson's smooth voice, then trust me, you're gonna love everything "African Cats" has to offer! Or you can just watch an episode of "Life" if Oprah Winfrey's narration style's more your thing. =)

Awsome!!!!

I love this movie(will whoever created it please think about making one for wolves?)!!!!

AFRICAN CATS IS AMAZING.

This is the greatest nature film ever: Lions, Leopards, Samuel L. Jackson. What more could you want? It's truly spectacular. Don't believe me? Just ask my girlfriend… She cries just from watching the trailer. Sure, a little dramatic, but the cubs are out of this world and the cinematography is pretty stunning. Get it in HD and get it now! This is DisneyNature's best yet. You will not regret it. Who knows, maybe you'll be as in love as Ellen is. She's no leopard cub, but she's pretty adorable herself. DON'T MISS THIS FILM.
