Customer Reviews
This movie really only makes an impact if you are a Browncoat.
The other two reviews point out that it was disappointing, or that you didn't need to watch the documentary because Firefly wasn't saved. However, for those of us who were a part of this movement, to bring back something we loved, it's a good thing to watch. As a Browncoat, these stories all touched me. Because I was a part of this. Because I can relate to is. It shows how we all saw something bigger in Firefly than what it was allowed to be. Those of us who saw it, understood it, and, because of that, we did save it. We got Serenity.
This documentary just shows how we got to that point.
Great Firefly fan film!
If you like Firefly and are interested in the fan movement to save the show you will like this film. The movie documents the fanaticism and events surrounding the show which ultimately lead to the creation of the Firefly Film Serenity.
May have been the losing side…
Still not convinced it was the wrong one. I have to agree with Pvt. K Train - The previous reviewers obviously were not a part of the push to see Serenity again after Firefly was canceled. Anyone who thinks that we "lost" because Firefly isn't currently on the air cannot possibly understand how hard we fought; how much time, energy, and hard earned money went into showing that Browncoats are united and would create enough of an audience all by ourselves to warrant the story being revived for the big screen. "Serenity" as a film would not have happened if it weren't for the fans. It wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the love of "Firefly" nurtured by true Browncoats (like the ones who slaved away making this beautiful documentary). Maybe you didn't discover "Firefly" until after "Serenity". That's okay. You can still be a part of the fandom that wouldn't quit. Watch this documentary and I promise: You will understand the force behind the film. You'll get to taste just a bit of what it was like to be at those midnight screenings. You'll get to know some true Browncoats. The interviews ensconced in this documentary are EXCLUSIVE. You want to know what was going through the actors' minds after the show was canceled? You need to see this film. You want to know what they felt when Universal agreed to call them back for "Serenity"? Watch this film. We raised our voices in a united cheer when "Serenity" first appeared on the screens of our local theaters, and we raise our voices still for "Done the Impossible". Thank you for documenting our story.
