An engaging drama/suspense/thriller

First of all, the iTunes description of this movie contains several errors about the plot.
Marilyn Monroe plays a mentally disturbed baby sitter, but her character has never murdered anyone, so the story is NOT about the working of a murdere's mind. Also, the young man rebounding from a break up with his girlfriend does not sleep with the baysitter. There is NO love making scene between them. They are merely talking and flirting with each other.

MM gives a surprising, impressive and convincing, natural performance as an unbalanced babysitter. The entire story of this drama/suspense thriller takes place in a New York City hotel. Here's the real plot synopsis: a young man recently dumped by his girfriend, begins to flirt with an attractive young female babysitter, who eventually begins displaying odd and disturbing behavior, confusing the young man and eventually frightening and traumatizing the young girl being babysitted.

An interesting and intelligent story, engagingly told. MM is definitely the acting highlight of the film.
After this impressive acting performance of a dark character, MM would unfortunately continue to be cast in romances, comedies and musicals. This was the narrowminded choice of the powers that be, in Hollywood of the time.
