Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: "Don't Go in the Woods" would be ideal for a 3 a.m. slot on MTV. A couple of decades ago. – David DeWitt, New York Times, Jan 12, 2012

Rotten: An undercooked, "Glee"-like hybrid of grating indie pop songs and forest slasher flick. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Feb 9, 2012

Rotten: Dwarfed by the baroque camp of Brian De Palma's horror musical Phantom of the Paradise, Don't Go in the Woods is cozily resigned to its novelty niche but an affront to fans of the genres it bowdlerizes. – Nick Pinkerton, Village Voice, Jan 10, 2012

Rotten: Tethers together numerous indie-rock musical numbers with a backwoods-horror-film framework that's the definition of an afterthought. – Nick Schager, Slant Magazine, Jan 13, 2012

Don't go in the woods

This movie was fantastic. The music was so catchy and the horror movie going on at the same time is a genius idea. I was glued to the movie the entire time. Great time for all. Music and horror fans alike.

Saw This at NYC Horror Film Festival...

...with D'onofrio and the cast in attendance! It was so great! Hysterically funny and significantly gory! Probably some of the worst singers I've ever heard (mainly the lead girl, who was sitting right behind me as I exclaimed this loudly in the theater, much to the amusement of the rest of the audience). Watch it, you won't be disappointed! If you're looking for a gory slasher flick with catchy tunes, and teens you actually want to see kick the bucket, this is the movie for you!

The worst movie ever

I agree with another posting the the film is more like "Glee" than a horror flick. I skipped most of the way through to the end as I was sick of hearing the same beat to with crappy vocals every 2 minutes. Do not rent if you are a true horror fan.
