Plot Summary

Based on the hugely popular video game, Doom Unrated is full of more explosive action-packed thrills not shown in theaters! A frantic call for help from a remote research station on Mars sends a team of mercenary Marines into action. Led by The Rock and Karl Urban, they descend into the Olduvai Research Station, where they find a legion of nightmarish creatures, lurking in the darkness, killing at will. Once there, the Marines must use an arsenal of firepower to carry out their mission: nothing gets out alive.

Rotten: Yes, Doom is a bad movie but you already knew that. – Drew Tillman, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: It takes someone who has actually played the game to explain what a colossally bad idea the Doom movie -- and most films that use video games as source material -- was from the start. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: ... shows less human dimension than the new Wallace and Gromit movie. – Gene Seymour, Newsday, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Not only do we rarely get to participate in the fun -- fun being the chance to watch demon guts splattered across the walls -- but there's barely any to be found. – Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News, Jun 24, 2010

Horrible movie.

The movie was horrible. It was not at all like the game. On the game. its people making a portal to hell with monsters escaping. While the movie, its just some liquid called C24 that turns people into either super human or monsters and only had 4 monsters from the game, they were zombies, imps, hellknights and pinkey. There was only 1 good part on it and was the guy tring to find sam and killing monsters like the game. Rest was horrible. I know i'm probly going to get alot of disagreements on this reveiw. But I think the movie was horrible in my opinion.

Alien creatures, futuristic guns, and The Rock

This is a righteous movie in its own right. Based on the video game - and paying homage to it in excess at times - it's a very good movie adaptation, on par with Resident Evil. To be honest, it's not the next Terminator or Aliens...Cameron can't be beat. However, if you just love a top-drawer sci-fi action flick, or if you're at all a fan of first-person-shooters, this is for you. Those who don't know the games will not understand some of the cues in the movie that provoke dread and anticipation among players, but they will still be able to appreciate a well-executed movie with creepy aliens, big guns, and Dwayne Johnson playing the same guy he always plays...and nobody does it better.
