Plot Summary

The chase is on! Ashley Judd shines in this unstoppable, untoppable box-office smash that co-stars Tommy Lee Jones in his "best performance since The Fugitive."* Judd plays Libby Parsons, who discovers that the husband she's convicted of murdering staged his own "death" and framed her for the crime. Released on parole, she skips town to find him–and that puts parole officer Travis Lehman (Jones) on her trail. Packed with more crowd-pleasing excitement than several movies put together, Double Jeopardy delivers lots of action and spine-tingling suspense from start to finish.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The picture itself is so nonsensical you don't understand why anyone would actually make it. – Mark Caro, Chicago Tribune, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: A lukewarm outing that mostly just bops from plot point to plot point. – Jay Carr, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Visual lushness is almost the only indication that the movie was directed by the same Bruce Beresford who made Breaker Morant and Driving Miss Daisy. – Jonathan Foreman, New York Post, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: It has no subtlety, no shadings, and no suspense, and might as well not have a screenplay. – Cody Clark, Mr. Showbiz, Jun 24, 2010

Double Jeporady

This is one of my favorite movies ever...I can watch is over and over again!

classic take-no-prisoners Ashley Judd

This is classic Ashley Judd, a force to be reckoned with as she stops at nothing to correct injustice. This movie, and "High Crimes" (also with Judd and with Morgan Freeman) are two of my favorite thrillers because of Judd's strong character in both. (Strange that iTunes doesn't list High Crimes as a related movie.) Nothing gets in her way, not even Tommy Lee Jones! The plot is a cool idea, although it has a few implausible points.

One of the best, most intense thrillers I have ever seen

I love double jeopardy and I cannot understand why this flick hasn't gained more attention and better reviews in the past. The plot is incredibly exciting, the acting superb - Ashley Judd's best performance ever. Watch it - you will not be disappointed....
