Plot Summary
In the future, America is a dystopian wasteland. The latest scourge is Ma-Ma, a prostitute-turned-drug pusher with a dangerous new drug and aims to take over the city. The only possibility of stopping her is an elite group of urban police called Judges, who combine the duties of judge, jury and executioner to deliver a brutal brand of swift justice. But even the top-ranking Judge, Dredd (Karl Urban), discovers that taking down Ma-Ma isn’t as easy as it seems in this explosive adaptation of the hugely popular comic series.

Rotten: Every so often there's a suggestion that a police state may actually be a lousy idea, but this thought dies even faster than the disposable characters.
Fresh: While not for the squeamish, Dredd 3D is an effectively gritty B movie accentuated by stylish visuals and irreverent humor.

Best Comic Adaptation this year
Huge fan of The Avengers but I felt Dredd was a better comic adaptation of not only the story of Mega City One but also of Judge Dredd the character. If you were left with a bad taste in your mouth from Judge Dredd 1995 movie then this is the perfect flavor. Tons of action and gore to keep any guy entertained and before you realize it you are at the end. A must see not only for Judge Dredd fans but action fans also. Don't miss out you will not be sorry
Better than original.
The darkness and violence of the movie is how its suppose to be and the action just keeps building up throughout the movie. Imo its a must buy.
Extremely well done action flick
Pro: Action is well paced and believable. Not a dull moment.
Con: It is very violent, which I enjoy, but others may find it too much.
