Excellent Movie!!

I remember first seeing this in '89 and being completely engrossed with this movie. 1989 was the beginning of the video store industry, before Blockbuster and DVDs. I used to rent this movie over and over and over. In many respects, this movie is a comedy; subtle, but comedic none the less. Drugstore Cowboy is a thought provoking movie with memorable characters, cool dialogue and great cinematography. This was the first movie that showed, in detail, exactly how junkies shoot heroine. Cringe!

VanSant's best

A beautiful take on the underside of the Pacific Northwest.

Such amazingly realistic

The scene where he shoots up right after the pharmacy robbery in the beggining is phenomenal. He puts in to words the feeling of being on a opiate rush so well it brings tears to my eyes. A classic movie, which has been somewhat forgotten over time, but nevertheless one I will never forget.
