Rotten: Suffers from a crippling lack of back story and characters whose relationships are fraught with unexplained complexity.
Rotten: "Blood" feels perfunctory, needing something besides fussy plotting to jolt it to life.
Fresh: While hardly reinventing the wheel, "Blood" works best as a tone poem, with unspoken passages detailing a hard life.
Fresh: "Blood" may not be wholly original, but it is effective.

To hate like this is to be happy forever!
Let's face it…tons of articles, books, commentaries, interviews, films, etc. have all covered the storied rivalry that is Carolina-Duke. This one stands out from the crowd covering the WHOLE experience…the one intangible that you can't adequately explain to outsiders until the feel it for themselves. I enjoyed every second of this documentary…except those when Duke was winning…or really anything about THAT school.
GO HEELS!
Awesome!
This is the most complete look into any rivalry that I have ever seen. This movie not only tells you about the history of the rivalry, but it enables you to go inside the rivalry on game day. I have been a fan of the rivalry for many years, but this movie told me things about the rivalry that I didn't know. This movie is simply fantastic and every sports fan should rent or purchase this movie today!
Game Day Documentary
I really enjoyed this documentary because the filmmaker didn't take any sides and focused on the rivalry as he saw it on game day. I loved the fact that he allowed the players, coaches and particularly the fans to tell the story of what the rivalry experience is all about. This story broke from the traditional ESPN 30/30 mold that has a bunch of talking heads and constantly goes to the game tape. By contrast, this film showed the rivalry from the ground on both game days. I thought is was magnificent and I have watched it over and over again. If you are a fan of the "Blue Blood" rivalry and want to know what it is like to experience game day on Tobacco Road, then this is your movie. I suggest that everyone take a look and let's compare notes because this movie is different than anything I have seen to date.
