Too dusty!
Once again an indie movie that fails to live up to the hype. The first 15 minutes is a hoot but once the main bad guy shows up he stinks up the movie. The actor playing the villain is so terrible that he single handedly ruins the movie. After a while the movie starts to lose its freshness and the jokes become repetitive, one too many shots of drug use get tiresome. The best thing about the movie is the background music and a super cool opening credits. That's about it!
Like a kick in the ballz!

Very 'Grindhouse' of a good time
My first impression was from the trailer, which made me think that I was sitting at a 1970's drive-in theater. Fantastic, right?! Pass the popcorn.
Just watching the trailer, the film gives a very 'Pulp Fiction'-ish vibe, but the full-on frontal flick is more Grindhouse than the trailer can be allowed to show.
So watching the whole thing from start to finish, I have to say that this flick has it all: humor, action, guts and glory. There's even romance and the cutest baby to ever grace a movie screen! But don't let the cute baby fool you, because this is not for the little ones nor the squeamish. For any parents with little tykes in the room, it earned an "R" rating, but I must confess that it seems that this flick is actually bordering an NC-17, based on the content. Nothing is held back, and the story shows the grittier side of living in the desert where anything can happen - and does happen to the Nth degree!
This is one that delivers well enough to satisfy the hardcore flick fans and balances the bloody brawls with a story that shines through and makes a social statement in its own twisted way. The cherry on top is the awesome title sequence that rivals the amount of work usually only put into opening titles for James Bond films. It's quite entertaining and artistic all on its own.
