Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: When he isn't checking himself -- or falling back on material that Mr. Pryor should receive royalties for because unimaginative comics have traded on it so often -- Mr. Griffin's journeyman efforts prove rock solid. – Elvis Mitchell, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: For every bit that's flatly derivative ... there's another that connects. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 7, 2011

Rotten: The pacing, the leather suit, the raspy speed rap. Chris Rock and others do it, and as long as Griffin sticks with the shtick he doesn't have much to add. – C.W. Nevius, San Francisco Chronicle, Jul 30, 2003

Rotten: [Griffin's] riffs lack enough insight to qualify as observations and the wit to be considered consistently funny. – Wesley Morris, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2010
