Plot Summary

Is it possible to stare at the sun and not eat? Meet Mason. Eat The Sun is the story of one man's struggle to uncover the truth and ultimately reveals the power of belief. Mason is a modern day "sungazer" and subject of Peter Sorcher's debut documentary film, Eat The Sun, a fascinating and thought-provoking account of this young man's journey into the little known world of sungazing - a practice of looking directly at the sun for long periods of time. Sungazing has its roots in ancient civilizations - from the Incas and Aztecs to the Greeks and Egyptians - but today, with the help of the Internet, this revived practice is gathering global momentum. Sungazers claim a multitude of health benefits including better eye sight, enhanced vitality, weight loss and, in some more profound cases, a complete loss of the desire and the need to eat food. Eat The Sun follows Mason on a curious and often hilarious cross-country tour that links him with a variety of colorful sungazers, some of whom have been sungazing for over 20 years: a Hollywood lawyer, a Mormon with 5 kids, a sungazing ophthalmologist and even a religious group founded by the real life Indiana Jones who believes that Jesus was a sungazer. This captivating documentary will challenge your deepest held beliefs.

Video could have been better...

After viewing this video it makes me feel like the allegations about HRM eating are fake. It just seems like too much emphasis was directed there. I expected more from this video. I also noticed how the video neglected to get deeply into some of the metaphysical aspects of sun gazing. The video is very careful not to go too far from conventional thinking. It's as if it attempts to open the door to the mysterious and then has a sudden change of heart very early on. I can say this video has prompted me to finally go without food. I have been wanting to explore this, but have not. I do Sun gaze and have experienced great changes in my life as a direct result. I haven't eaten meat in over 5 months. I too have noticed the need not to eat as often. Sun gaze and change your life.

Eat the Sun

I could have been featured in this film. I've been sun-gazing for several years, prompted initially by HRM, but I quickly realized that his claims were untrue. I'm at 35 minutes and I still have mental stuff to clear. Still working. Wiley eats too. McDonalds Quarter Pounders I heard. Whatever. It would be nice of they all would stop lying "for the cause."
There's still plenty of good reasons to sun gaze. The biggest reason i continue is the overwhelmingly good feelings i get throughout my entire body stating in my "solar" plexus. It brings everything in your life into the light so to speak. You just cannot lie to yourself when your staring into the sun. Well, i couldn't. Apparently HRM and WIley can.
