Plot Summary

Lars is a once acclaimed painter who has hit the proverbial brick wall creatively. His major hang up? His artistic inspiration only comes in the form of carnage: blood, guts and limbs. After making a vow never to go down that dark road again, Lars settles in a quiet little town to teach at the local art school. Then he meets Eddie, a brawny, mute man who suffers from a rare and dangerous form of sleepwalking. One which transforms the gentle art student into a ravenous nocturnal cannibal with a serious craving for fresh meat. With Eddie as his newfound friend and muse, Lars will discover that truly exceptional art comes at a very high price. With its unique blend of offbeat humor, twisted friendships, sweet-hearted romance, and the gory realities of sleepwalking cannibalism, EDDIE is a fresh and funny horror-comedy that pushes the boundaries of the genre.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A flawed but diverting meditation on finding inspiration while losing your soul. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Apr 5, 2013

Fresh: Thankfully, Lindhardt keeps things together with an appealing performance that constantly oscillates between drama and very light, dry humor without sacrificing the slightly otherworldly nature of his character. – Boyd van Hoeij, Variety, Apr 5, 2013

Rotten: This would-be cult item runs out of steam after its establishes its wickedly satirical premise. – Frank Scheck, Hollywood Reporter, Apr 5, 2013

Rotten: This deliberately tasteless horror-comedy might appeal to gore hounds and fans of gross-out humor; but as with many films that strive for cult status, any potential exploitation-movie pleasures are overwhelmed by an air of smug self-awareness. – Ben Sachs, Chicago Reader, Apr 25, 2013
