Customer Reviews

Totally thought this was something else.

While this movie may be for some, was expecting something with a lot more science and facts. They could’ve taken it in a whole different direction other than a new age, drug induced, every body loves each other, pacifier sucking, “energy” enhancing way. It was a lot of interviews with the underground. Where is the information on what the music does to a person scientifically. You can’t prove it “enhances energy by doing what our ancestors did” by beating drums all around. Sure there are some commonalities; so where’s the proof! Where are the CAT-Scans, the empirical evidence that western civilization would accept?

It’s CERTAINLY not in this film! Save your $10 and go get some fast food you’d enjoy rather than spending as much time as I did wasting my life watching this. It at least would’ve been a lot more pleasant.

Great movie !

I think the 'totally thought this was something else' reviewer missed the bus on what the film was about. The film is an ethnographic film meaning the films focus is on the culture of the events - not the science behind them. Shows and movies about the science behind drug use have been done countless times - this movie presents a different viewpoint on the dance community and culture.
Personally, i thoroughly enjoyed it. I would highly recommened it to anyone who has been a part of that culture - anyone who has felt that sense of community amongst complete strangers after such a little time together...or to anyone that enjoys dance music, which who doesnt like to dance every once in awhile? Afterall - dance like noones watching.

Great job showing our Culture!!

Congrats to Andrew Johner for creating such a detailed documentary on our EDM Culture…It is the 1st of it's kind to capture and represent the amazing possibilities when people of all backgrounds are brought together to celebrate music and community. It is a great way to help introduce people to the festival community and show how it's not just a bunch of drug induced parties..but instead intentional sacred-space gatherings. Great Job!!
