ASTONISHING!!

This movie gives you a great inside view of the work done by the elite swat team of Rio. A trully masterpiece that I surly recommend!

Thought Provoking and Thrilling

Days after watching this my mind still wanders to the slums of Rio de Janeiro. There's lots of action here -- much more then the sequel -- and i was on the edge of my seat during the captivating scenes in the slums. The movie definitely tries to address some important and very serious social issues making it feel almost like a documentary but still keeping its Police Thriller momentum. It reminded me somewhat of The French Connection in that it felt like only the facists could get anything truly done in such a warped urban setting.

Definitely worth watching and discussing with friends afterwards about either the political and social issues displayed thoughout the film or the awesome Elite Squad tactics deployed by the memorable Captain Nascimento -- totally depending on your group of friends of course.

Fantastic

Every scene is memorable. If they remake this movie for a North American audience they better use David Fincher or Martin Scorsese to direct. The location will need to be in the U.S. or in Puerto Rico. I highly recomend this film.
